Volvo XC70 SE Lux D5 AWD - A Quick Review

Whether it’s the classic more-metal-good philosophy, its drop-dead comfort, its fizz fizzing ride, its paramount address to quality or its not-so-bragging attitude…

… Here, at volvo wholesale parts, we love everything about Volvo. We are the cult followers of this legendary brand that was born in 1927.

And, whenever the brand enters the market with a launch, we try to follow it closely. So staunchly, that the very next moment, we are behind the steering wheel, ready to give it a test drive.

This time, it’s the Volvo XC70 SE Lux D5 (2016 model) - we know we are a bit late here.

Volvo – We Roll!
(In the classic Latin accent)

What Has Been Retained?

The comfort, the dependability and the slightly old-fashioned looks. In short, pretty much what made you fell in love with the V70 series.

However, there are few twists, and an added butch.

The First Impression – Inside and Outside

The classic estate car look from the outside, but, with a reinforced demeanor. It has grown more in stature, characterized by a raised ride height. Bumpers are cladded, right along the sides and on those wheel arches.

The are 18-inch alloy rims, covered by winter tires; the metal-good metallic paint, a privacy glass and a glass sunroof.

As we open the door, the nostalgic interior awaits. Plenty of space in front and at the back. Armchairs are as comfortable as before, cladded in leather. The company offers package accessories for your Volvo — the one which we tried already had these accessories installed—which include:

· A driver support pack – you get collision warning module with auto brake system, module for pedestrian and cycle detection and road sign and driver alerts display module.

· A security pack – you get the keyless car entry, laminated windows and water repellent installed at front-side windows.

· A winter pack – you get a heating module for the seats.

· A family pack – you get power child locks and the integrated booster seats.

Ignition Starting – On-road Performance

Now, let’s talk about the on-road performance of Volvo XC70 SE Lux D5 AWD.

The estate car has the old 2.4 liter five-cylinder diesel engine and a six-speed auto box. Something that the new 2.0 liter D4 Drive-E has improved on. However, the XC70’s D5 engine has more horse power to call in.

Drivers will find themselves constantly rapping up leagues in a high gear, which complements the added butch-demeanor of the car. The average mileage is quite good, roughly around 40 mpg, making it a good road companion for far away journeys.

Driving it on rough roads is not a problem, with car delivering smooth ride along rough farm tracks thanks to the Volvo’s Active Four-C Chassis.

The Volvo XC70 SE Lux D5 AWD should appeal anyone who want comfort and an aplomb driving experience.
